Mom and Dad Visit

I'm a little late in posting these pictures. Mom and Dad drove down to visit in July and we had some fun times.
Drew LOVES the beach and fearlessly runs into the water.

Playing with his toys is okay too.

Drew on the swings at the park.

At the water park. So fun!

We Are Back!

Finally, after much neglect we are back online! Sorry to those of you who have checking the blog only to see that it hasn't been touched in months. We moved not long ago and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time home with Drew. I feel so much more relaxed and able to enjoy him and being a parent. It's funny because I thought I would have some background or know-how on this parenting stuff because of teaching and babysitting. But instead I've concluded that I have A LOT to learn! On a daily basis I am researching answers to something that is going on. Drew is already 14 months old and I can't believe it! He is so precious to us and such a joy to have in our lives. Every day is new and exciting. There is always a new sound (or squeal lately), a new toy to master, a new remote to master, and new shelf in the cabinet to explore. Yes, he is into everything!

So what else is new? We recently got back from a great trip to New Jersey and Drew got to spend lots of quality time with family. We kicked off our trip with a visit to Catherine in Brooklyn and got to see her new pad and beautiful four month-old baby Isla. It's funny to think about but 10 years ago we were juniors in college and moving into the Whipple Drive apartments together. My, how time flies!

Then on the Fourth of July we had a family barbecue and birthday party for Drew. It was a super hot day but everyone was a good sport. Here are some pictures from his big day.

One thing Drew loved about NJ was all the time he got to spend outside. Breakfast by the pond, bird and butterfly watching, dips in the pool, and exploration missions were his daily routine. He got really used to it and was really disappointed when we got back to Florida. Between the strong sun, 100+ heat indexes, and afternoon thunderstorms we just can't compete.

I LOVE this face! He usually says, "Ummm..." while he is doing it.

Mid-sprint!

Grandma also taught Drew a few tricks while we were visiting. He will flap his arms to imitate a butterfly if you ask him what a butterfly does. He also says, "kitty cat," not very clearly but it's decent. Lastly, if you ask him what a kitty does he will make a purring sound. It's so cute!
